I love description. I love immersing myself (and my invisible audience) into something so sensory and profound that it leaves a lasting impression. There's something amazing about building a picture in someone's mind. You try to make it so clear that someone can see the exact picture you see while at the same time appealing to their own interpretive abilities.
Writing went well today. I think that is because I mostly worked on my short story and the section I wrote was a character's memory. A memory is all sense and perception, so I enjoyed it immensely. It flowed and was so pure and easy. I love that feeling. It reminds me (yet another that reminds me!) why I'm here doing what I'm doing.
I don't know if it was the fact that I stepped away from my works-in-progress to delve into something less....involved or if it was just the pure fact that I take great pleasure in writing description. Whatever the case, I'll take the good days when I get them.
